About us
Team photo at our first project! (missing some of the team, who were managing the office)
My son, Sam III, and I started this business in Feb 2024. What we thought was going to be a side hustle, turned into a viable business. In just our second year, we are grateful to be moving our warehouse from my son's barn in Saranac, to a rented space in Byron Center.
Prior to Alger Rentals, I was with Meijer for nearly 30 years, leading a marketing team. Sam III (pictured in the center) is a tradesman who has operational expertise in logistics, construction, linemen and so much more. We all have the mindset of being customer-focused which is our first and foremost priority. We've been part of the community for decades and truly understand what it means to be a Michigander. We have Midwest sensibilities based on integrity, accountability, and humility. My wife Dorothy (pictured to the far right) and I both graduated from GVSU. Our kids graduated from Catholic Central. Our daughter, Jillian (pictured 4th from the left) currently attends Loyola University in Chicago. After she graduates, she plans to return to West Michigan to help grow the business. My daughter-in-law (not pictured) works in the Lowell school system. Our grandkids (SJ, second from the left and Ted not pictured) attend Lowell schools.
We know there are several options in West Michigan to rent party supplies and equipment. What sets Alger Rentals apart is our dedication to going the extra mile—whether it’s a last-minute tent need, a change in guest count, or help finding reliable vendors. We’re not just dropping off tables and chairs; we’re helping you create memories. From backyard gatherings to community festivals, we approach every event with care, professionalism, and attention to detail. We’re proud to be a local, family-run business, and we hope to earn your trust through responsive communication, reliable service, and that personal touch that can make all the difference.
